Dacor
Temperature regulation / calibration issue
Oven heats but does not reach set temperature or takes excessively long to preheat.

Possible Causes
Drifting oven temperature sensor, Weak heating element, Control board calibration off, Poor door seal causing heat loss
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels or testing components.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and compare actual temperature to the set temperature over several cycles.
- Check door gasket: Inspect the door seal for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Replace if not sealing evenly.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the oven temperature sensor at room temperature (~1080–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
- Inspect elements: Ensure both bake and broil elements glow evenly during preheat. A partially failed element can slow heating and cause uneven temperatures.
- Adjust calibration: Many Dacor controls allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu (e.g., ±35°F). Follow the user manual to fine-tune if the oven is consistently off by a small amount.
Warning: Large temperature errors usually indicate a component fault, not just calibration; do not rely solely on offset if the difference is more than about 35°F.
