Possible Causes
Burned-out halogen or incandescent oven bulb, Faulty oven light switch or door switch, Failed light relay on control board, Corroded lamp socket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing the bulb or working near the lamp socket.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the exact type and wattage specified by Dacor (often a high-temperature halogen).
- Inspect socket: Check the lamp socket for corrosion or heat damage. If the new bulb does not light and the socket looks damaged, replace the socket assembly.
- Door switch check: If the light does not come on when the door opens, test the door switch for continuity when pressed and released. Replace if faulty.
- Control relay: If the bulb, socket, and switch are good, the light relay on the control board may have failed and the board may need replacement.
Warning: Use only oven-rated bulbs; standard bulbs can shatter under high heat.
