Possible Causes

Open bake heating element, Burned wire at bake element terminal, Failed bake relay on control board, Loose connection at terminal block

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the oven is completely de-energized before touching any wiring or elements.

  • Check element visually: Inspect the bake element at the bottom of the oven cavity for blisters, cracks, or burn spots. Any visible damage usually means the element is bad and should be replaced.
  • Test element continuity: Remove the rear panel or pull the element forward from inside the oven to access its terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element reads 15–40 Ω. If open (OL), replace the bake element.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for burned or loose wires at the element terminals and at the rear terminal block where the power cord connects. Repair or replace damaged wiring and tighten loose connections.
  • Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the bake relay on the EOC may not be closing. This usually requires replacing the control board.

Warning: Never work on the element or wiring with power applied. Use insulated tools and verify power is off with a meter.
