Oven does not reach set temperature, long preheat times, food undercooked

Safety first: Disconnect the Etna oven from mains before testing components.

• Verify actual temperature: Place an accurate oven thermometer in the center of the cavity. Set the oven to 200°C and allow at least 20–25 minutes. Compare the displayed temperature to the thermometer. A large difference (>20°C) indicates a control or sensor issue.
• Test the temperature sensor: Access the sensor as described for E02. Measure resistance at room temperature and, if possible, at a known higher temperature (e.g., 150°C using a heat source). Compare to the expected resistance curve from the service manual. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
• Check lower element output: With power disconnected, test the lower element’s resistance. A significantly higher resistance than specification can cause weak heating. Replace the element if it is open or far out of spec.
• Inspect wiring and terminals: Tighten all screw terminals on the terminal block and check the connectors at the elements and PCB. Loose or oxidized connections can reduce power to the heaters.
• Control board evaluation: If sensor and elements are good, the main PCB may not be driving the elements correctly. Look for heat damage or cold solder joints. Replacement of the main PCB is usually required if faulty.
