Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, moisture ingress into sensor probe, damaged insulation causing sensor wires to short, shorted sensor input on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before working on the oven.
- Remove and test sensor: Unscrew the sensor from inside the cavity and pull it out carefully. Disconnect the plug and measure resistance. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor that must be replaced.
- Check for moisture damage: Inspect the sensor body for signs of corrosion or moisture. If the oven has been steam‑cleaned frequently, the sensor may have absorbed moisture and failed.
- Inspect wiring: Look for crushed or melted sensor wires where they pass through the rear wall grommet. Repair any damaged insulation and ensure wires are not touching each other or the chassis.
- PCB input check: If a new sensor still shows a short reading when connected, the sensor input circuit on the main PCB may be damaged. In this case, replace the main PCB.
