Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, blocked cooling air channels, faulty cooling fan triac or relay on main PCB, defective cavity overheat thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains and allow it to cool fully before accessing internal components.
- Check fan operation: Start a heating cycle and listen for the top cooling fan (not the convection fan). If it never starts or is extremely noisy, suspect the cooling fan motor.
- Access cooling fan: Remove the oven from the cabinet and take off the top cover. Locate the cooling fan assembly above the oven cavity.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove any insulation, debris, or wiring that may be obstructing the fan blades. Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding.
- Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace the cooling fan assembly if open or seized.
- Check overheat thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat on the top or rear of the cavity. Test for continuity at room temperature. If open, replace the thermostat.
- PCB drive check: If the fan and thermostat are good, the control board’s fan relay/triac may be defective. Inspect for burned components and replace the main PCB if necessary.
