Possible Causes
Burned out convection fan motor, seized fan bearings, broken fan blade, failed fan relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing the rear panel or fan cover.
- Access convection fan: Inside the oven cavity, remove the rear fan cover (usually held by screws). This exposes the convection fan blade.
- Check for free movement: Try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate smoothly. If stiff or seized, the motor bearings are likely worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect fan blade: Look for cracks or missing pieces. A damaged blade can cause imbalance and noise; replace the blade if necessary.
- Test motor windings: From the rear of the oven, access the fan motor terminals. Disconnect and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Control board relay: If the motor tests good but never receives voltage during a fan mode, the fan relay on the main PCB may be faulty. Replace the main PCB if the relay is not switching.
