Overheating / Contamination on Elements
Oven emits burning smell or smoke during normal cooking (not first use or self‑clean)

Possible Causes
Food or grease buildup on elements, spillage on cavity floor, failing insulation on wiring, overheating plastic trims
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If heavy smoke appears, switch off the oven and ventilate the room. Do not leave the oven unattended.
- Inspect cavity: Once cool, remove racks and check for heavy grease or food deposits on the elements and cavity surfaces. Clean with a suitable oven cleaner (avoid spraying directly on elements or sensors).
- Check wiring: Remove the rear panel and inspect wiring near hot areas for signs of melting or charring. Replace any damaged wires with high‑temperature cable.
- Test at moderate temperature: After cleaning, run the oven empty at 180–200°C for 20–30 minutes to burn off residues, with good ventilation.
- Monitor trims: If plastic trims or control panel parts are overheating, verify that the cooling fan is operating correctly and that ventilation clearances are adequate.
