Possible Causes
Heating element shorted to chassis, damaged wiring insulation touching metal, moisture in elements after cleaning, faulty mains filter (EMI suppressor)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven and only proceed if you are competent with electrical testing.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel and inspect all wiring to the elements and fans for signs of burning or insulation damage contacting the metal chassis.
- Insulation test of elements: With all wires disconnected from the elements, use a megohmmeter (if available) to test resistance between each element terminal and earth. Low resistance indicates leakage; replace the faulty element.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the mains interference filter module for burn marks or cracking. Replace if damaged.
- Drying after cleaning: If the issue started after heavy steam cleaning, allow the oven to dry thoroughly (door open, low heat if possible) once the fault is resolved and safe to power.
