Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane, Failed electronic oven control board (EOC), Moisture or contamination on keypad ribbon, Loose or corroded keypad ribbon connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

  • Power reset: Turn the range/oven breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely permanent.
  • Check keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel back cover. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touchpad to the EOC. Gently unplug and re-seat it several times to clean contacts. Inspect for corrosion, burns, or cracks.
  • Test keypad: If the error appears without pressing any keys, the membrane may be shorted. Disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC, restore power briefly: if F1 does not return with the keypad disconnected, the keypad/touch panel is bad.
  • Replace failed part: If F1 persists with keypad disconnected, replace the electronic oven control (EOC). If F1 disappears when keypad is disconnected, replace the touchpad or complete control panel assembly (depending on model).

If you are not comfortable working around live circuits or removing the control panel, contact a qualified technician.
