Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Failed EOC temperature control circuit, Stuck bake or broil relay, Shorted sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: If the oven is overheating or will not shut off, turn off the breaker immediately. Do not use the oven until repaired.
- Cool and inspect: Allow the oven to cool completely. Inspect the oven temperature sensor at the rear of the cavity for physical damage.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). If out of range, replace the sensor.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the EOC for shorts to ground or between conductors. Repair any damaged wiring.
- Control board replacement: If sensor and wiring are good, the EOC likely has a stuck relay or failed temperature circuit. Replace the electronic oven control.
