Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Moisture in sensor connector, Failed EOC sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing.

  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Access the oven temperature sensor at the rear of the cavity. Check for damaged insulation or wires touching metal.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. If it reads very low (near 0 Ω) or far below spec, replace the sensor.
  • Check for shorts: With the sensor disconnected, check continuity from each sensor lead to chassis ground. There should be no continuity. If there is, locate and repair the shorted wiring.
  • Replace EOC if needed: If sensor and wiring are good and F4 persists, replace the electronic oven control.
