Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed door lock latch, Faulty door lock switch, Wiring issue between lock and EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker. The door lock mechanism can move unexpectedly; keep fingers clear of moving parts.

  • Check door movement: Ensure the oven door closes fully and is not misaligned or obstructed.
  • Listen during lock attempt: Start a self-clean cycle briefly and listen for the lock motor. If you hear no motor sound, the lock motor or its power supply may be faulty.
  • Access lock assembly: Remove the top or rear panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor and latch assembly. Inspect for broken plastic parts, bent linkage, or obstructions.
  • Test lock motor and switches: With power disconnected, check continuity of the lock motor and lock switches using a multimeter. Replace the door lock motor assembly if the motor is open or switches do not change state when actuated.
  • Wiring and control: Inspect wiring from the EOC to the lock assembly. If lock assembly and wiring are good, replace the EOC.
