Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Faulty unlock position switch, Jammed latch due to heat warping, Wiring issue between lock and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker. The oven and lock may still be very hot after self-clean; allow to cool fully before working.
- Allow cooling: Sometimes the door will unlock automatically once the cavity cools. Wait at least 30–60 minutes.
- Manual release: On many Frigidaire models, you can access the lock mechanism from the top or rear and manually move the lock arm to release the door. Consult your user manual for the manual unlock procedure.
- Inspect lock assembly: Once accessible, inspect the lock motor and linkage for heat damage or binding.
- Test and replace: Use a multimeter to test the lock motor and switches. Replace the door lock assembly if defective.
