Possible Causes
Weak or partially failed bake element, Failed convection element (if equipped), Faulty oven temperature sensor, Poor door gasket seal causing heat loss
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power before testing elements or sensor.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and compare actual temperature to the set temperature after 20–30 minutes. Note any large difference (>25°F).
- Inspect elements: Visually inspect bake and (if present) convection elements for blisters, cracks, or dark spots. Test resistance with a multimeter; replace any open or obviously damaged element.
- Check sensor: Test the oven temperature sensor (~1050–1100 Ω at room temperature). Replace if out of spec.
- Door gasket: Inspect the door gasket for gaps, tears, or flattening. Replace the oven door gasket if it does not seal evenly all around.
- Calibrate control: Many Frigidaire ovens allow temperature calibration in the user settings (e.g., +/- 35°F). Adjust according to the user manual if hardware is good but temperature is consistently off by a small amount.
