Possible Causes

Shorted temperature sensor, Sensor out of calibration, Stuck closed oven relay on control board, Poor ventilation around oven cabinet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.

  • Verify ventilation: Ensure the oven is correctly installed in the cabinet with the required ventilation gaps as specified in the Gorenje installation manual. Blocked vents can cause overheating and F2 errors.
  • Check temperature sensor: Access the oven temperature sensor as described for F1. Measure resistance at room temperature and compare with the specification. A significantly lower resistance than normal can cause the control to think the oven is hotter than it is.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for melted insulation or discolored connectors near the sensor wiring and on the control board. Clean and reseat connectors.
  • Test operation at lower temperature: After reassembly, set the oven to a low temperature (e.g., 120–150°C) and monitor. If F2 appears quickly, the sensor or control board is likely faulty.
  • Replace components as needed: Replace the temperature sensor first. If the problem persists, the power relay on the control board may be stuck closed or the board may misread the sensor; in that case, the electronic control board should be replaced by a professional.
