Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air path, Faulty cooling fan thermostat, Defective control board fan relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully before accessing the rear or top panels.

  • Check cooling fan operation: With the oven re-energized, start a low-temperature bake and listen for the cooling fan (usually at the top rear). If it does not start after a few minutes, turn power off and proceed with checks.
  • Access cooling fan: Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary and take off the top or rear cover to reach the cooling fan assembly.
  • Inspect and test fan: Check that the fan blades are not obstructed. Spin by hand; it should move freely. Measure motor resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Check thermostat (if fitted): Some models use a cooling fan thermostat. Test it for continuity at room temperature or when gently heated (using a heat gun carefully). Replace if it does not switch as specified.
  • Inspect wiring and relay: Ensure all connectors are tight and not burned. If the fan and thermostat are good but the fan never receives power, the control board relay may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
