Possible Causes
Open grill element, Burned grill element terminals, Faulty function selector contact for grill, Defective grill relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the top cover or inner top panel.
- Inspect grill element: Look for visible breaks or bulges in the grill element at the top of the cavity. Test with a multimeter; an open circuit means replacement is required.
- Check terminals: Access the rear of the grill element and inspect the terminals for burning or looseness. Clean and tighten or replace terminals as needed.
- Selector switch (if fitted): On knob-controlled models, the grill contact in the function selector may be burned. Inspect and replace the selector switch if contacts are damaged.
- Control relay: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the control board may have failed and the board may need replacement.
