Possible Causes
Open bottom heating element, Open top/grill element, Tripped thermal cut-out, Faulty oven function selector switch (on knob models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing any panels or testing components.
- Check obvious functions: Verify that the oven clock is set (some Gorenje models will not heat until the time is set) and that a valid mode and temperature are selected.
- Test heating elements: Access the top/grill and bottom elements from inside the cavity or rear panel. Measure resistance with a multimeter. Replace any element that reads open circuit.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Locate the safety thermostat/thermal fuse on the top or rear of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. If open, replace it and investigate causes of overheating (blocked vents, failed cooling fan).
- Check selector switch (if fitted): On mechanical knob models, the function selector can burn contacts. Inspect for discoloration or melted plastic. Replace the selector switch if contacts are damaged.
- If no fault found: The power relay or triac on the control board may have failed. Board-level repair or replacement is typically required by a technician.
