Possible Causes

Shorted heating element to chassis, Damaged wiring harness touching metal, Faulty interference filter, Moisture inside electrical components

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven and ensure it remains off until the fault is located.

  • Identify the mode causing trip: Note whether the breaker trips when selecting grill, bottom heat, fan, or any mode. This helps isolate the faulty circuit.
  • Insulation test of elements: With power disconnected, remove at least one wire from each heating element and measure resistance between each element terminal and the oven chassis. Any low resistance (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted element that must be replaced.
  • Inspect wiring harness: Look for pinched or melted wires where they pass through metal panels. Repair or replace damaged sections and secure with proper clips.
  • Check interference filter: The mains filter module can fail and cause RCD trips. Inspect for burns or cracks and replace if suspect.
  • Dry moisture: If the oven was recently cleaned with large amounts of water or steam, allow it to dry thoroughly (door open, power off) for 24 hours and retest.
