Possible Causes

Open upper heating element, Loose or burnt element terminals, Faulty relay on main control board, Overheated wiring to upper element

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power at the breaker before removing any panels.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the oven from the cabinet if required and take off the rear cover. Inspect the upper (top) heating element terminals for signs of burning, discoloration, or broken spade connectors.
  • Check element continuity: Disconnect at least one wire from the upper element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A healthy Hisense upper element typically reads between 15–40 Ω. If it reads open (OL), replace the element.
  • Inspect wiring: Trace the wires from the element back to the main control board. Repair any burnt or brittle wiring and ensure all connectors are tight.
  • Control board relay: If the element and wiring are good, the heating relay on the main control board may be stuck or open. Look for burnt spots on the board. Replacement of the board is usually required and is best done by a technician.
