Possible Causes
Contaminated or wet touch panel surface, Loose touch sensor ribbon cable, Faulty touch sensor IC, Cracked glass control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the control panel.
- Clean panel: Wipe the glass touch panel with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any grease, moisture, or cleaning residue. Do not use excessive water.
- Drying time: If the panel was recently cleaned, allow several hours for moisture to evaporate before retesting.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the touch panel and the user interface board.
- Inspect for cracks: Look for hairline cracks in the glass around the touch keys. If present, replace the glass touch panel assembly.
- Replace UI board: If the panel and cable are good but E14 persists, the touch sensor IC on the UI board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
