How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes to discharge the electronics, then restore power and check if E5 clears.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the front control panel assembly (usually held by screws behind the trim). Carefully disconnect and reseat the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main control board.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid spills behind the glass panel. Dry the area thoroughly and allow several hours before reapplying power.
- Examine PCBs: Inspect both the user interface board and main control board for burn marks, corrosion, or cracked solder joints. Replace the faulty board if damage is found.
- ESD precautions: When handling boards, use anti-static precautions to avoid further damage.
