Possible Causes
Drifted NTC temperature sensor, Poor sensor mounting to cavity, Faulty calibration data in control board, Damaged sensor wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool.
- Sensor mounting: Inspect the oven temperature sensor mounting screw or bracket inside the cavity. Ensure it is firmly attached to the rear wall and not hanging loose, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Check resistance vs. temperature: Remove the sensor connector and measure resistance at room temperature and again in warm water (sealed in a bag). Compare readings to Hisense service data. If values are far off, replace the sensor.
- Harness inspection: Check the sensor wiring for intermittent breaks or heat damage.
- Control calibration: Some Hisense models allow temperature calibration via the settings menu. If E9 appears only at certain temperatures, try a factory reset or calibration. If unsuccessful, the main control board may need replacement.
