Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad on control panel, Failed electronic oven control board, Moisture or contamination on keypad ribbon connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.
- Power reset: Turn the range/oven breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns quickly, the fault is likely hard (not a glitch).
- Check for stuck keys: With power OFF, inspect the glass touch control panel for cracks, liquid spills, or stuck buttons. Gently clean the surface and edges with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel trim (usually a few screws from the top or inside the door area). Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touchpad to the control board. Reseat it: unplug and firmly reconnect. Look for corrosion or burn marks.
- Isolate keypad vs board: On many Monogram ovens, you can disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC, restore power, and wait 5–10 minutes. If F1 does not return with the keypad unplugged, the keypad/touch panel is bad. If F1 still appears, the EOC is faulty.
- Replace failed component: If the keypad is bad, replace the Monogram touch control panel / keypad assembly. If the EOC is bad, replace the electronic oven control board. Transfer any wiring one connector at a time to avoid miswiring.
