Possible Causes
Open or shorted upper oven temperature sensor, Damaged upper oven sensor harness, Faulty sensor input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing.
- Identify upper sensor: On double Monogram wall ovens, the upper cavity has its own sensor probe on the rear wall. Remove mounting screws and pull forward.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and test with a multimeter. Expect ~1080 Ω at room temperature. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of spec.
- Check harness: Trace the sensor wires to the control board. Inspect for pinched or burned insulation, especially where they pass through the oven liner.
- Control board: If sensor and wiring are good, the upper sensor input on the electronic oven control board may be defective. Replace the board.
