Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed convection fan blade, Faulty fan speed sensor (if equipped), Defective control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Internal sheet metal can be sharp.
- Check fan operation: In convection mode (before disconnecting power), note whether you hear the convection fan running. No sound or grinding indicates a problem.
- Access fan: Remove the oven racks and rear interior panel to expose the convection fan and shroud. Check for loose screws, warped shroud, or food debris contacting the blade.
- Spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. It should turn freely. If stiff or seized, replace the fan motor.
- Electrical test: From the rear of the oven, access the fan motor terminals. Check for continuity across the motor. An open reading indicates a failed motor.
- Control board: If the motor is good but never receives power in convection mode, the control board's fan driver may be faulty. Replace the electronic oven control board.
