Possible Causes

Shorted meat probe jack, Damaged or wet probe receptacle, Failed meat probe sensor, Faulty probe detection circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing internal wiring.

  • Check for actual probe: Ensure the meat probe is not plugged in. If it is, remove it and see if the message clears.
  • Inspect probe jack: Look inside the probe receptacle in the oven wall for moisture, food debris, or corrosion. Clean gently and allow to dry completely.
  • Test with known-good probe: If available, plug in a known-good Monogram meat probe and see if the oven recognizes it correctly. If not, the jack or control may be faulty.
  • Replace jack: Access the meat probe receptacle and harness from the rear or side of the oven. Replace if shorted or corroded.
  • Control board: If the jack and probe are good but the oven still thinks a probe is inserted, the probe detection circuit on the control board may be defective. Replace the electronic oven control board.
