Possible Causes

Open bake heating element, Failed bake relay on control board, Loose or burned wire at bake element terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Heating elements carry high voltage.

  • Visual check: Inspect the bake element (bottom of oven) for blisters, cracks, or breaks. Any visible damage means it should be replaced.
  • Continuity test: Remove the rear panel to access the bake element terminals. Disconnect wires and test the element with a multimeter; it should show finite resistance (typically 15–40 Ω). An open reading means the element is bad.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for burned or loose connectors at the element and at the control board. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Control board: If the element and wiring are good but no voltage is sent to the element in bake mode, the bake relay on the electronic oven control board may have failed. Replace the board.
