Monogram
Temperature regulation or underheating issue
Oven heats but does not reach set temperature or takes excessively long to preheat
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Weak bake element, Faulty oven temperature sensor, Poor door gasket seal causing heat loss, Calibration offset in control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels or testing components.
- Verify temperature: Use an accurate oven thermometer placed in the center of the oven. Compare actual temperature to the set temperature after 20–30 minutes.
- Check elements: Ensure both bake and broil elements glow red during preheat. If one does not, test and replace as needed.
- Inspect door gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or flattened areas in the oven door gasket. Replace if damaged to prevent heat loss.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the oven temperature sensor at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if out of spec.
- Calibrate control: Many Monogram ovens allow temperature calibration in the settings menu (e.g., +/- 35°F). Adjust if the oven is consistently off by the same amount.
