Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Stuck bake relay on control board, Miscalibrated control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before working.
- Confirm overheating: Use an oven thermometer to verify that the actual temperature is significantly higher than the set point.
- Test sensor: Remove and measure the oven temperature sensor at room temperature (~1080 Ω). If resistance is much lower than spec, replace the sensor.
- Observe element cycling: During a bake cycle, the bake element should cycle on and off. If it stays on continuously, the bake relay on the control board may be welded closed. Replace the board.
- Check calibration: Use the settings menu to reduce the oven temperature calibration if the oven is consistently high by a fixed amount.
