Possible Causes
Broken NTC temperature sensor, Disconnected sensor plug, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from the mains supply before removing any covers.
Steps to check:
- Access sensor connections: Remove the rear panel of the oven. Locate the temperature sensor where it enters the cavity and trace its wires to the control board.
- Check plug and terminals: Ensure the connector is firmly seated on the sensor and on the control board. Reseat the plug several times to clear oxidation.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit (OL) indicates a failed sensor.
- Harness test: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the control board connector through the wiring harness. Repair any breaks or replace the harness.
- Replace sensor: If the sensor is open or intermittent, install a new Montpellier-compatible NTC sensor and secure it firmly in the cavity.
- Control board: If wiring and sensor are confirmed good, the control board sensor input may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
