Possible Causes

Loose keypad ribbon connection, Failing EOC, Static or surge damage to control electronics

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.

Steps:

  • Reseat keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel cover and locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the EOC. Disconnect and reconnect it several times to clean the contacts.
  • Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion or discoloration on the ribbon and connector. If present, replace the keypad assembly.
  • Power reset: After reseating, restore power and test. If F0 persists, the EOC is likely failing.
  • Replace EOC: Label all wires, remove the old EOC, and install the new one, transferring wires one by one.

Because F0 is a generic communication error, both keypad and EOC should be evaluated before replacing parts.
