Possible Causes
Corrupted EOC firmware, Power surge or brownout, Internal memory failure on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before handling the control panel.
Steps:
- Power cycle: Turn breaker OFF for at least 10 minutes to fully discharge the control. Turn back ON and test operation.
- Check supply voltage: Use a multimeter (if qualified) to verify 240 VAC supply across L1–L2 at the terminal block and stable 120 VAC to neutral. Unstable power can trigger logic errors.
- Inspect control board: Remove the rear cover and inspect the EOC for burnt components or corrosion. If present, replacement is required.
- Replace EOC: If F8 returns after a proper power reset and supply voltage is correct, replace the EOC.
Because firmware on Premier EOCs is not field-reprogrammable, persistent F8 almost always requires control replacement.
