Possible Causes

Failed door switch stuck in "open" position, Misaligned door not depressing switch, Shorted light relay on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing the door switch or control board.

Steps:

  • Door alignment: Check that the door closes squarely and fully. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
  • Test door switch: Locate the door switch on the front frame. Remove it and test continuity while pressing and releasing the plunger. Replace if it does not change state correctly.
  • Control relay: If the switch is good but the light remains on, the light relay on the EOC may be stuck closed. Replace the EOC.
