Possible Causes
One heating element not operating (bake or broil), Weak gas igniter, Low supply voltage (electric models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas (for gas models) before removing panels.
Steps:
- Check both elements: In electric models, during preheat both bake and broil elements may cycle. Visually confirm that both elements glow red at some point. If one never glows, test and replace that element.
- Gas models: Observe the flame pattern. A small or lazy flame may indicate a weak igniter or gas supply issue. Replace a weak igniter first.
- Voltage check: For electric units, verify 240 VAC at the terminal block. Low voltage will cause slow heating.
- Door seal: Inspect the door gasket for gaps or tears that allow heat to escape. Replace if damaged.
