Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between touch control and main PCB, Failed touch control panel, Failed main control PCB, Corroded connector on control harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from the mains supply by switching off at the cooker isolator and removing the plug or switching off the circuit breaker. Confirm power is off before removing any panels.

  • Check for a simple reset: Leave the oven unplugged or isolated for 10–15 minutes, then restore power. If E0 clears temporarily but returns, continue with inspection.
  • Inspect control connections: Remove the top or rear cover (depending on model) to access the control area. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch control panel to the main PCB. Reseat both ends by unplugging and firmly reconnecting, ensuring the locking tabs are engaged.
  • Check for corrosion or heat damage: Examine the connectors on the main control PCB for discoloration, burning, or corrosion. Clean light oxidation with electrical contact cleaner and a soft brush. If tracks are burnt, the PCB will need replacement.
  • Test continuity of the ribbon cable: With a multimeter set to continuity, test several tracks end‑to‑end. If any track is open, replace the touch control panel or ribbon assembly as supplied by Salter.
  • Replace faulty board: If wiring and ribbon are sound but E0 persists, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced with the exact Salter part number for your model.

Warning: Do not work on live circuits. If you are not confident with electrical testing, contact a qualified appliance technician.
