Possible Causes
Failed fan oven element, Loose or burnt fan element connectors, Open circuit in fan element wiring harness, Faulty fan element relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing panels.
- Access fan element: Remove the oven's rear internal panel (inside the cavity) to expose the circular fan element around the convection fan.
- Visual check: Look for breaks, bulges, or burn marks on the element ring. Any damage indicates failure.
- Test resistance: From the rear of the oven, disconnect the fan element terminals and measure resistance. A typical reading is 20–40 Ω. An open circuit means the element is faulty.
- Inspect wiring: Check for heat‑damaged insulation or loose spade connectors. Replace any damaged wiring with high‑temperature cable.
- Replace fan element: Fit a new Salter fan oven element, ensuring it is correctly seated and all screws are tight. Refit the internal panel before use.
Warning: Do not operate the oven with the internal rear panel removed; this can expose live parts and cause overheating of internal components.
