Possible Causes

Failed LED/LCD display module, Dry joints on display connector, Faulty display driver IC on PCB, Low voltage supply to display

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing the control panel.

  • Check connections: Remove the control panel and reseat the display connector or ribbon cable. Inspect for corrosion or loose pins.
  • Inspect solder joints: Examine the display and driver IC solder joints with a magnifier. Reflow any cracked joints if you are competent with soldering, or replace the board.
  • Measure low‑voltage supply: If you have the skills and tools, verify that the display is receiving the correct DC voltage from the control PCB. If not, the PCB power supply section may be faulty.
  • Replace display or PCB: If the display itself is dim or missing segments despite correct supply and connections, replace the display module or the entire control PCB, depending on how Salter supplies the part.

Warning: Incorrect handling of the PCB can cause electrostatic damage. Use ESD precautions where possible.
