Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing covers or touching internal components.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel and inspect the main control PCB. Look for burnt areas around the heater relays or triacs, cracked solder joints, or discoloured connectors.
- Check heater wiring: Confirm that the live and neutral wires to the top grill, bottom element, and fan element are firmly connected and not burnt. Tighten any loose spade terminals and replace any overheated connectors.
- Continuity test of elements: With the oven unplugged, disconnect each element and measure resistance. Typical values are 20–60 Ω depending on wattage. If all elements test good, the fault is likely on the control PCB.
- Replace main control PCB: If relays are visibly damaged or you have no output to any element despite good supply and elements, replace the main control PCB with the correct Salter part.
Warning: PCB repair at component level should only be attempted by experienced electronics technicians. For most users, replacing the entire board is safer.
