Possible Causes

Blown internal fuse on control PCB, Loose mains connection at oven terminal block, Failed mains filter, Faulty main control PCB power supply

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the consumer unit before removing the oven or accessing the rear.

  • Check mains outlet and isolator: Confirm that the wall switch or isolator feeding the oven is on and delivering power.
  • Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover and check the mains terminal block for loose or burnt connections. Tighten and replace as necessary.
  • Check internal fuse: Some Salter control PCBs have a small glass or thermal fuse. Inspect and replace with the exact type and rating if blown, after identifying and correcting any cause.
  • Test mains filter: If fitted, check the mains filter for continuity and signs of damage. Replace if faulty.
  • Replace control PCB: If supply reaches the PCB but it remains dead, replace the main control PCB.

Warning: Internal fuses usually blow for a reason; investigate for shorts before simply replacing.
