Possible Causes

Open-circuit temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Unplugged sensor connector at main PCB, Failed NTC thermistor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing any panels.

Steps to check:

  • Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (temperature sensor) usually at the rear upper area. On Tower ovens it is often held by 1–2 screws.
  • Access wiring: Remove the rear cover of the oven cabinet to access the sensor wiring harness leading to the main control board.
  • Check connections: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the main PCB (often labeled NTC or TEMP). Reseat the connector.
  • Continuity test: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the sensor terminals. A typical NTC sensor will read between 500–1200 Ω at room temperature (exact value varies by Tower model). If it reads open (OL), the sensor is faulty.
  • Replace if faulty: Remove the mounting screws inside the cavity, pull the sensor through, and install a new Tower-compatible oven temperature sensor, routing the wires as originally.

Note: If the sensor tests good but E1 persists, the fault may be on the main control PCB and should be handled by a technician.
