Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Pinched sensor cable against cabinet, Moisture inside sensor connector, Shorted tracks on main control PCB at sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before inspection.
Steps to check:
- Visual inspection: Access the rear of the oven and follow the sensor cable from the cavity to the main PCB. Look for crushed insulation where the cable passes through the metal cabinet.
- Connector check: Unplug the sensor from the PCB and inspect for moisture or carbon tracking. Dry and clean with contact cleaner if needed.
- Resistance test: Measure the sensor resistance at room temperature. A shorted sensor will read near 0 Ω. Replace the sensor if shorted.
- Harness check: If the sensor tests normal, test the harness from the sensor connector to the PCB for shorts between conductors or to chassis.
Important: If wiring and sensor are good, the main control board's sensor input circuit may be damaged and should be replaced by a professional.
