Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Jammed lock mechanism, Misaligned door latch, Faulty door lock switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the door lock. Ensure the oven is cool.
Steps to check:
- Door alignment: Check that the door closes squarely and the latch engages smoothly. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Access lock: Remove the top or front panel (depending on Tower model) to access the door lock assembly near the front of the oven.
- Inspect mechanism: Look for bent linkages, broken plastic parts, or obstructions. Lubricate lightly with high-temperature-safe lubricant if stiff.
- Switch test: Use a multimeter to test the door lock microswitch(es) for proper open/closed operation when the lock is actuated.
- Replace if needed: If the motor does not run or the switch is faulty, replace the complete Tower door lock assembly.
Note: Do not force the door open during a locked cycle; this can damage the glass and hinges.
