Possible Causes

Failed lower oven temperature sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor harness from heat, Faulty control board sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels.

Inspection steps:

  • Access the lower oven temperature sensor (if a double oven) at the rear wall of the lower cavity.
  • Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access the connector.
  • Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. Expect approximately 1050–1100 Ω at 70°F. Compare to Wolf service specs if available.
  • Check the harness for heat damage or chafing where it passes through the liner or near the convection fan housing.
  • Verify the connector at the control board is fully seated and free of corrosion or burnt marks.

Corrective actions:

  • If resistance is out of spec or intermittent when you gently flex the leads, replace the lower oven temperature sensor.
  • If wiring is damaged, repair with high-temperature-rated wire and connectors or replace the harness.
  • If sensor and wiring test good but E02 remains, the control board is likely defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
