Possible Causes
Failed bake igniter (glow bar or spark), No gas supply to oven burner, Clogged bake burner ports, Faulty gas valve coil or safety valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off gas supply to the range and disconnect power before servicing. Work in a well-ventilated area and avoid open flames.
Checks:
- Remove the oven bottom panel to access the bake burner and igniter.
- For glow-bar igniters: observe (with power restored) whether the igniter glows bright orange within 30–60 seconds of starting bake. If it does not glow or glows weakly, it is likely faulty.
- For spark ignition: listen and look for a strong, regular spark at the burner when bake is commanded.
- Inspect burner ports for heavy debris or spills blocking gas flow.
- Verify that the manual gas shutoff valve to the oven is open and that other gas burners on the range operate normally.
Corrective actions:
- Replace a weak or non-glowing bake igniter with the correct Wolf part. Do not touch the new igniter element with bare fingers.
- Clean the bake burner ports with a soft brush or compressed air; do not enlarge the holes.
- If the igniter works but the burner never lights and there is no gas odor, the oven gas valve / safety valve may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified gas technician.
