Possible Causes
Food or grease buildup on elements, Foil or liners touching heating elements, Dripped grease on oven floor or hidden surfaces, Failing insulation or wiring overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: If heavy smoke or flames appear, turn off the oven and breaker, and ventilate the area. Do not open the door fully if there is active flame.
Steps:
- Once cool, inspect the elements, oven floor, and walls for heavy grease or food spills; clean with a Wolf-approved oven cleaner.
- Remove any foil or aftermarket liners from the oven floor or racks; these can overheat and burn.
- Check around the elements and under the bottom panel for hidden spills.
If odor persists:
- Inspect wiring near the elements and fan for signs of melting or scorching; repair or replace damaged wiring.
- If insulation appears burned or there is a persistent electrical smell, contact a qualified technician to inspect the wiring harness and insulation.
