Possible Causes
Empty hopper, Pellets bridged above auger intake, Pellet level sensor not reading correctly (if equipped), Wet pellets swelling and blocking feed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the grill off and allow it to cool before reaching into the hopper or auger area.
- Refill hopper: Check pellet level and refill with dry, food‑grade hardwood pellets. Avoid mixing old, damp pellets with new ones.
- Break pellet bridges: Use a clean, dry wooden stick to gently stir pellets in the hopper, especially near the auger intake, to break up any bridging.
- Check pellet quality: Remove a handful of pellets and inspect for swelling, softness, or crumbling. Discard any compromised pellets and vacuum out the hopper if necessary.
- Sensor inspection (if equipped): If your Char‑Broil model has a pellet level sensor, inspect its wiring and mounting. Clean off dust or debris that may interfere with operation.
- Restart cook: After ensuring a steady pellet supply, restart the grill following the manufacturer’s startup procedure.
