Possible Causes
Control set to high power profile, Incorrect P‑setting configuration, Ambient conditions (wind, high outside temp) amplifying aggressive feed, Software calibration issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Monitor the grill closely when temperatures are higher than expected to avoid grease fires.
- Review P‑setting: Consult the manual to understand P‑settings. If P2 is a more aggressive feed mode, change it back to the default or a lower setting.
- Lower set temperature: Reduce the target temperature by 25–50°F and observe whether the grill stabilizes closer to your desired cooking temp.
- Shield from wind: If the grill is in a windy location, move it to a more sheltered area or use a windbreak. Wind can cause higher combustion rates.
- Controller reset: Power the grill off, unplug for several minutes, then restart. If the grill continues to run excessively hot in normal modes, the control board may require recalibration or replacement.
