Possible Causes
Pellet jam in auger tube, Dry or worn auger bushings, Foreign object in hopper, Misaligned auger shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the grill before working near the auger or hopper.
- Empty hopper: Remove pellets and vacuum out dust and debris.
- Inspect for foreign objects: Look for screws, nails, or other hard objects that may have fallen into the hopper.
- Disassemble auger: Remove the auger motor and slide the auger out of the tube. Clear any compacted pellets and inspect the shaft for wear or bending.
- Lubricate bushings (if serviceable): Lightly lubricate metal‑to‑metal contact points with a high‑temperature, food‑safe lubricant if recommended by Char‑Broil.
- Replace worn parts: If the auger shaft is bent or bushings are excessively worn, replace the auger assembly and/or motor.
